Forecast checks

How accurate are our forecasts?

We save what we predict, measure what happened, and publish the comparison every month, good or bad.

How one forecast gets checked

  1. 30 days beforeFirst forecast saved
  2. 7 days beforeForecast saved again
  3. 1 day beforeLast forecast saved
  4. The dayRide waits recorded through the day
  5. AfterwardsEach saved forecast compared with the measured level

Every night we save what we predict for each park 1, 7 and 30 days ahead. Once that day has been measured, we compare the two. Closed days are left out: only open-day crowd levels are scored. A forecast is "within one level" if it said High and the day turned out Peak or Medium.
